Next Friday the 15th of March is a global day of youth-led action on climate change. Students are striking from school in more than 50 countries around the world, arguing that being educated for the future is pretty pointless when their futures are in jeopardy from the very real threat of catastrophic climate change.
The Level 3 Social Anthropology class will be attending the strike - specifically a rally in Aotea Square in central Auckland at midday - as part of their study of social movements and forms of activism on social issues.
It has come to our attention that there are other ASHS students who may also be choosing to strike from school that day. If this is you, and you would like to catch a bus from school at interval to attend the rally, please email Rachael (firstname.lastname@example.org) before the end of this Wednesday (the 6th) as we want to know how many buses we need!
